The River of Dreams

OBG 25 is a fundraising event organised and supported by the Rotary Club of Toowoomba East Inc. (RCTE). OBG has been held successfully every two years since 1997 and, so successful that the concept has been recently copied and adapted by others.
OBG is a fully managed and catered outback four-wheel drive vehicle (4WD) ‘tag along’ style six-day caravan and camping experience involving up to 70 participants.

Day 1 | Saturday 20 Sept 25

Embark on the Adventure – Hebel

Gather your essentials and prepare to venture into the heart
of the outback. Rendezvous at the famous Hebel Pub. Unveil surprises as you
check-in and collect your expedition pack, registration between 2pm & 4pm.

Day 2 | Sunday 21 Sep 25

Unveiling the Outback’s Secrets – Hebel

Delve into the heart of rural Australia. Discover the hidden
world of farming, witnessing firsthand the backbone of our nation from cattle,
cotton & sheep at Abarue Farm & Feedlot to Cubby Station, a testament to
the region’s rich history. Enjoy lunch at an iconic watering hole. As the sun
dips below the horizon, immerse yourself in outback hospitality of the Hebel
pub and our travelling band “The Boys”.

Day 3 | Monday 22 Sep 25

A Tapestry of Time – Bourke

Uncover ancient tales as we leave the hospitality of Hebel &
the Deshon family. We pass by Goodooga Hot Springs to the haunting echoes of
the past at Hospital Creek, and the ancient Brewarrina Fish Traps, every turn
reveals a new chapter. The day culminates with an overnight stay in the vibrant
town of Bourke, where hidden gems await.

Day 4 | Tuesday 23 Sep 25

Along the Mighty Darling – Trilby Stn.

 We follow the winding
path of the Darling River, a lifeline of water through the arid landscape.
Immerse yourself in the grandeur of Toorale National Park, a sanctuary for
nature. Lunch is at an iconic Haven. Then, uncover the grandeur and stories of
Trilby Station, where generations of family have continuously maintained this
working sheep station. The evening sunset will beckon us for a hearty meal and
to gather around the campfire for fun and tales of the outback.

Day 5 | Wednesday 24 Sep 25

Legends of the Land – Trilby Stn.

Step back in time with a guided tour at Dunlop Station, a
living museum of the outback that neighbours Trilby Station. The history of
life on the land is revealed as you explore this historic property. On return
to Trilby, the afternoon is yours to discover some hidden trails and untold
stories or just relax and enjoy the setting. Tonight, the shearing shed comes
alive with music, laughter, and the spirit of the outback.

Day 6 | Thursday 25 Sep 25

A Final Frontier – Lightning Ridge

Today we embark on the final leg of our outback journey,
following the Darling River to the enigmatic town of Grawin. Uncover its quirky
charm before venturing to the heart of opal country, Lightning Ridge.

Day 7 | Friday 26 Sep 25

The Grand Finale – Lightning Ridge

Here we discover the eccentric community of opal miners,
bush Pubs and unique artworks. This final day is yours, with organised tours
available to explore the wonders of Lightning Ridge. Discover hidden treasures,
both above and below the ground. Tonight, we gather for more fun and frivolity
at our farewell celebration.
